The key objective of this project was to signalise two major junctions located within St Helens town centre to enable provisions for new pedestrian crossing facilities. The location and sensitivity of the junctions required extensive planning, co-ordination and communication between all parties. A Contracts Manager was appointed to liaise with St Helens Council to enable efficient communication direct from client to site.
St Helens Council decided to take the opportunity of further enhancing areas beyond the site limitations including an additional puffin crossing and extensive resurfacing. The project, which had been extended to a value of £520,000, was completed on 28th March 2010.
Achievements against targets:
- Achieving a 14 week programme (extended due to additional items)
- Completion of all works to specification
