Atlantic Park Gateway, Bootle
Major Construction Work
Brief description:
As part of the regeneration of the Atlantic Park in Bootle, it was part of the planning permission for the requirement to construct a new entrance road off Bridle Road. The scheme was awarded under a competitive tender administered by Capita Symonds Sefton on behalf of Sefton MBC. The project included the removal of the existing traffic islands on Bridle Road and the construction of a new fourth leg to a current 3 way signalised junction. There were also ducting works involved in order to install the traffic lights on the new access road, a new drainage system was installed to service the new access road, the surrounding footways were upgraded and there was also associated traffic signs and road markings.
All of these works were strategically undertaken within a complex traffic management system which utilised a set of 3 way temporary traffic lights in order to maintain the busy flow of traffic through Bridle Road.
