The council recognised that this would be an ideal location to test plastic kerbs and their longevity in a view to possibly start using them all over the borough. This is because of manual handling regulations and long term health problems in relation to the individuals constantly laying kerbs.
We were proud to be the contractor the council chose to carry out this scheme and were surprised when the Liverpool Echo contacted us to take photographs and to write an article about this new innovation.
The council have also made us the authorised contractor in the borough to undertake installation of plastic tactile paving. These plastic tactiles have the advantage of bending with the flexible pavement. One of the advantages of using them is that they can withstand constant heavy traffic driving over them without the need of constantly replacing them like their concrete counterparts. |
